Why one wins
PET bottles are technically recyclable, but globally only ~9% are. The rest go to landfill, incineration, or the ocean. The fraction that is recycled is mostly downcycled to lower-grade products, not back into food-grade bottles.
Insulated stainless steel has no liner, doesn't leach BPA or microplastics into the water, and tolerates impact and dishwashers indefinitely. A single bottle reliably replaces 1,000+ single-use bottles per year of regular use.
The carbon break-even point is typically reached within 4-8 weeks of replacing single-use PET — every use after that is a net win.
